Look Up PSA
The message of this PSA is directed toward parents and caretakers of young children, emphasizing how closely kids watch and mimic the adults around them. The video encourages families to put down phones and electronic devices to be more present, showing that children feel more connected, engaged, and supported when their caregivers give them their full attention. By highlighting the contrast between distracted moments and intentional togetherness, the PSA reinforces the idea that putting screens away leads to deeper, more meaningful experiences for both the parent and the child.

To visually and emotionally communicate this shift, I edited the project in Adobe Premiere Pro, applying skills I developed through a course in which I earned a certification in video editing. Scenes involving screen use were intentionally designed with somber lighting, quieter audio, and a more muted tone to reflect disconnection and distraction. When the phone is finally put away, the lighting brightens, movement becomes more energetic, and the sound design lifts to symbolize renewed connection and presence. These stylistic choices work together to show how small changes in everyday habits can have a powerful impact on a child’s sense of attention, care, and shared experience.
